(32 items found)About the Pilot EasyTouch pen
Pilot EasyTouch retractable pens and capped pens both have a rubber grip designed to fit comfortably in the space between the thumb and index finger. This is useful with ballpoints because they require more pressure on the paper to write than gel pens. The result is fine, smooth lines without tired hands. The pen also has a balanced barrel, so that there isn’t too much weight at the front or back of the pen. They write and feel like a luxury ballpoint pen without the high price.
Types of Pilot ballpoint pens with EasyTouch
There are three types of EasyTouch pens. Each one has the same rubber grip and balanced barrel with a few design differences.
- Retractable: Opens and closes with a push of a button on the back of the pen and eliminates the need for cap
- Capped: Cap fits snugly over the ballpoint to prevent dried ink
- Mechanical pencil: Same body as the ballpoint except with erasable pencil graphite that releases with the push of a button
Understanding point sizes
EasyTouch pens come in two point sizes. The Pilot fine point pen has a ball that is only .7mm in size for a thin line and the ability to write in small spaces. The medium point pen has a ball that is 1.0mm. It’s a bit larger for thicker lines and larger spaces, so words are easier to see. The pencil version has a .5mm point. This is the most common nib size for mechanical pencils on the market.
Pilot refillable pens
Just like with most Pilot retractable gel ink pens, Pilot EasyTouch ballpoint pens are refillable. There’s no need to keep buying pens when ink runs out. Remove the tip of the pen with a twist. Insert new ink, and place the tip back on. When buying refills, choose the desired point size, and check the label to make sure the ink fits inside the EasyTouch pen. All pens that can use the ink are printed directly on the refill packaging.
