(107 Products)What Is a Report Cover?
Report covers are sometimes called report protectors or essay covers, since they’re intended to go over business reports and offer protection as well as a professional presentation. They fit perfectly in storage and organization solutions in the office, so it’s easy to keep a supply on hand. Report cover folders help you make a great first impression. They’re the first thing noticed when you submit a report and create an effect similar to a booklet or pamphlet, making reports seem more professional and clean.
Why Should You Choose Report Cover Folders?
Report protectors are wise to use so you don’t ruin a report you spent time on before it’s even seen by others. Report protectors are made to be durable enough to hold your documents in place so that they’re perfectly flat and unwrinkled. You won’t have to worry about your pages being torn or accidently spilling your beverage and staining or warping your report. The transparent cover allows you to still see the first page of your report inside, and some varieties are built with interior folders for carrying additional documents. Report covers are made to be lightweight and are designed to fit in your briefcase, standard backpacks and other bags so you can carry them with you on the go. Depending on your needs, Quill also offers archival-safe products for long-term storage and preservation.
And you don’t have to use report covers strictly for reports. Use them for any kind of documents you want to protect, even your kids’ artwork.
What Features Should You Consider When Purchasing Essay Covers?
Not every report cover folder is the same. Here’s what to know before you buy.
Material
As with anything, sturdier materials will protect documents longer. This makes options like pressboard or vinyl better for long-term usage. Short-term use report covers like paper stock may be more cost-effective as a material if the documents won’t be repeatedly used.
Type
There are three types of report covers:
- Pronged: These have small prongs to keep documents safely inside like notebook paper.
- Slide Locking: Instead of punching holes in documents without them, secure pages by slipping on a reusable lock bar over the spine cover.
- Punchless: Punchless folders have a built-in clamp to keep documents from spilling.
Paper Size
Report covers come in letter size, legal size, legal size and other options. Letter size is most commonly 8.5 inches by 11 inches, like copy paper. The standard legal size is 8.5 inches by 14 inches.
Color
Color is important for matching aesthetics in the office or at home. Report protectors come in different colors so you can accessorize your report while still looking professional. Common colors are black, gray, white, burgundy and navy blue. The different colors make it easy to color-code your work and distinguish between different reports and projects.
